Programming Intern

Time — 3-8 hrs/wk

The Programming Intern will assist the QSC Director in carrying out program/event logistics. This will include, but is not limited to, the following: completing forms, creating Facebook events, reserving meeting spaces, booking Resource Center equipment for tabling, reserving event spaces, communicating with other organizations / groups / departments for collaborations, etc. They will often coordinate with the Community and Outreach Interns and Street Team (volunteers).  Finally, they will assist in planning QSC meetings.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Intern

Time — 3-5 hrs/wk

The Social Media Intern is in charge of keeping QSC web resources accessible, up-to-date, and inclusive. They will help the director manage the email listserv and website. They will be a Facebook administrator on the QSC page so they may upload photos, videos, and other digital memorabilia from QSC programs.

Qualifications:

  • Exuberant social media skills
  • Willingness to learn website logistics
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred
  • Reliable

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Social Media Sites
  • Maintenance of Web Site
  • Ideas/Concepts for Designs
  • Liaison with the ASUW Office of Communications

Community Outreach Intern

Time — 3-6 hrs/wk

The C&O Intern will help maintain networks connected to the QSC community. They will manage and carry out advertising for QSC programs and events (printing flyers in the Resource Center, Red Square tabling with flyers, banners for Kane Hall, button-making, videos, postering around campus and the U-District, etc.) by coordinating QSC’s Street Team volunteers. They will also network with on- and off-campus resources and help connect them to constituents.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison to different communities (UW and greater Seattle)
  • Creating community charity/volunteer events
  • Coordinating Street Team volunteers

Advocacy Intern

Time — 3-5 hrs/wk

The Advocacy Intern will work to promote a non-heteronormative, anti-racist, non-ableist, and non-sexist atmosphere  throughout the UW campus.  They will also advocate for issues surrounding the queer community at all levels of administration at UW.  This could include: being a liaison to ASUW Senate, posting social justice articles, engaging in meaningful discussions with community leaders, and organizing awareness campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison to ASUW Senate
  • Advocating for issues identified by the intern team
